Founding SeasonSample weekends shown while we lock real dates — join the list

Everything people ask

I need a damn break. But first, questions.

Straight answers, no brochure-speak. Flying solo? You don't need to bring anyone — GTFO weekends are built for arriving alone. Still stuck? Contact us.

Who is this for?

Burned-out adults 18+ — nurses, teachers, line cooks, new parents, anyone running on fumes. You don't need to be outdoorsy, into wellness, or spiritual. You don't need to be rich. You just need to be tired. If you're old enough to decide you need to get the F%CK out, you're old enough to come.

Do I need to bring someone, or can I come alone?

Come alone — that's how GTFO weekends are built. No plus-one needed, no crew required. Shared cabins and campfire dinners do the rest: you'll know your cabinmates by Friday dinner. Arriving solo is the design, not a concession.

What should I expect on a GTFO weekend?

A loose schedule on purpose: a morning hike or walk, an afternoon swim or float, evenings around the campfire with real food from local cooks. Days run roughly Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. Swim, sit by the fire, sleep hard — the porch is a full itinerary.

What does the price include?

Weekends start at $349 all-in: 2 nights in a real bed (shared cabin or bunkhouse, linens included), every meal Friday dinner through Sunday lunch catered by local cooks — menu subject to change — plus all guided hikes, swims, campfires, and live music. No payment is due today; payment comes later via a secure link.

What should I bring?

Layers, boots or sturdy shoes, a swimsuit, a headlamp, and whatever you read. We send a packing list before every retreat. Bedding, towels, food, and river gear are on us.

What about food and dietary needs?

All meals are catered by local cooks — brisket, tacos, chili, breakfast that sticks — and the menu is subject to change. Vegetarian options at every meal, and we handle common allergies if you tell us at booking. Nobody goes hungry; that's a house rule.

How do sleeping arrangements work?

Shared cabins or bunkhouses with real beds and linens — separated quarters where the property allows, and couples can request private accommodations when available. Everyone gets a safe, respected arrangement. If there's anything we should know, there's a private, optional note field at booking that only organizers see — you never have to disclose anything sensitive publicly.

How private is it, really?

Privacy is a feature here. Alone time is on the schedule — naps, doing nothing, nowhere to be. Quiet corners everywhere, lodging preferences handled privately between you and the organizers, and nobody has to explain themselves around the fire.

Is the wellness stuff mandatory?

Nothing is mandatory — not the swims, not the hikes, and definitely not the bodywork. Everything at THE WATERLINE SANCTUARY (massage and Reiki) is optional, consent-based, and pre-booked with vetted local practitioners, purely for relaxation — never medical. The porch, the hammocks, and the coffee pot are all valid all-day choices.

What's THE WATERLINE SANCTUARY?

Our signature wind-down for Founding Season retreats: a private treatment space in canvas and natural materials — soft natural light, privacy screens, fresh air, trees and water nearby, natural sounds. At river and lake sites it's a secluded private 3/4 tent near the water; out in Terlingua it's the dark-sky version of the same privacy idea. Intimate without being sexual, premium without pretentious. Optional massage and Reiki from vetted local practitioners, pre-booked, consent-based, purely for relaxation — never medical. For this hour, nobody needs anything from you. Not available yet — note your interest when you book and we'll save you a slot.

What's the cancellation policy?

Founding Season placeholder policy — full details before any payment is ever taken. The short version: life happens, and we'd rather move you to a later weekend than keep your money. No payment is due today, so nothing is at risk while you hold spots.
