Garner State Park Area · Dec 4–6, 2026 · Frio River Basecamp
Cold river, hot coffee, zero agenda.
Bald cypress, cold clear water, and a fire that never goes out.
Founding SeasonFounding Season — join the list
Our loosest weekend of the season. The Frio in December is brisk, beautiful, and blissfully empty. Mornings start slow with cowboy coffee, midday is for the river and the trails, and evenings belong to the fire — story swaps, a chili cook-off, and the kind of quiet you can't buy in the city. Built for the burned-out: introverts welcome, extroverts tolerated.
Founding Season. Dec 4–6, 2026 is a sample weekend shown while we lock real dates — holding spots is free and never promises a confirmed seat yet.
Riverside cabins, small group — separated quarters where the property allows
Everyone gets a safe, respected arrangement — and anything sensitive stays between you and the organizers via the private note field at booking.
Fajitas, chili cook-off + cowboy coffee from local cooks
Cooked by our local hill country caterer (tba) — Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. Menu subject to change.
Coming with Founding Season retreats
A private treatment space in canvas and natural materials — soft natural light, privacy screens, fresh air, trees and water nearby, natural sounds. At this weekend it's a secluded private 3/4 tent near the water — quiet, natural, intimate without being sexual, premium without pretentious — for optional massage or Reiki sessions. Vetted local practitioners, scheduled and pre-booked, consent-based, purely relaxation and wellness (never medical), limited availability. Not available yet — note your interest when you book and we hold a slot in mind for you.

This weekend's questions
It's brisk — that's the honest word. Plenty of folks still get in (it's gorgeous), and plenty don't. The hike, the fire, and the chili cook-off don't require getting wet at all.
Small group — max 12 — in riverside cabins that cost us more per head. Fewer people, more space, more pie. That's the trade.
That's the whole design. GTFO weekends are built for arriving alone — show up solo, meet your people around the fire Friday night, and leave with a group text you actually keep.
